What began as a hobby 13 years ago turned out to be the leading radio station in Chimaltenango, located 53 kilometers west from Guatemala city. La Chimalteca 101.5 FM transmits from Kilometro 52.8 Carretera Interamericana, Chimaltenango and relays the signal to our main power tower in cerro Tecpan. Our originality, dedication and commitment to provide quality sound waves has put us in this position. We are a fully regional genre station but have included small segments of a variety of styles to please all of our listeners. Our commitment to promote our culture is such that we have implemented a song from our national instrument, the marimba every hour, first station to play marimba throughout the day.

Even with its increasing popularity just as a repeater, we decided to operate this station independantly from La Chimalteca about a year ago to take full advantage of its potential.
